Theses at the Assistant Professorship of Computational Sociel Science and Social Dynamics

The Assistant Professorship of Computational Social Science and Social Dynamics regularly offers theses on current research topics.

Here is a list of current suggested topics. Unless otherwise indicated, these topics can be worked on as both Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. Own topic suggestions are welcome.

If you are interested in writing your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis at the Assistant Professorship of Computational Social Science and Social Dynamics, you should fulfill the following requirements:

  • Interest in empirical (especially quantitative) research
  • Good methodological knowledge and willingness to deepen your knowledge independently
  • Good knowledge in MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel) or comparable alternatives
  • Knowledge of common statistical programs (e.g. R, Stata, Python)
  • Having attended one or more Social-Science courses (e.g., as part of a study in Socioeconomics) before starting the thesis
